– daycare in Lugano is guaranteed by the Fondazione Francesco for social help It is operating seven days a week, including holidays, in the spaces of the “Casetta Gialla” (Resega). It was inaugurated in January 2010 to respond to increasing needs emerged in our Region. Since then, the Bethlehem Social Center has recorded a swinging trend of the number of Guests, depending on the seasons and socio-economic or health conditions. Anyone who is given the opportunity to use it, regardless of their social and legal condition, their kind of membership, national or religious origin. The services offered include breakfast, lunch, rest, shower, laundry, change of clothes or internet access, thanks to the constant presence of professional staff.

The Bethlehem Social Centre is open from 08.30 to 14.30. To welcome the guests of the Bethlehem Center, as well as to better address the social problems that they bring with them, within the structure (called “low threshold”, that is not specialist and accessible to anyone) are present in turn our social workers, flanked by a professional cook and temporarily by kitchen collaborators. Generally, several Volunteers are also active for lunch. Other Volunteers support our social activity through the provision of used clothes, food, personal hygiene products or cleaning. By choice, the Fondazione Francesco does not benefit from public subsidies and manages to cope with its financial commitments thanks to the recurring support of numerous private entities (associations, service clubs, companies, foundations, groups of parents, family groups, parishes or single persons), as well as the donations of basic necessities, foods,...
