Do Yu Kai Chiasso

JUDO was created by Professor Jigoro Kano (1860/1938 – a learned person, graduated from the first university in Japan, director for a twenty-year period from the Tokyo Master School, the first Asian representative in the International Olympic Committee, a great educator). Having such an origin JUDO could not limit itself to being a sport.It is to all effects (also being the first martial art recognized as Olympic sports in 1964), however it is also – and above all – an educational method. JUDO teaches to suffer and to engage in a goal, demands respect for companions and opponents, emphasizes the importance of values such as honor, modesty, self-control, sincerity, courage and education.

At the DYK Chiasso, a sports association founded in 1974 has been active in our region for more than forty years, the primary objective of JUDO has not been lost. This objective, however, is acquired by comparing it with others and testing itself. That is why we continue to believe in the competitive JUDO and promote all the facets of discipline. I invite all interested parties to the dojo of via Cattaneo 10 in Chiasso; in our center is always given the possibility to make two free trial lessons. Fortunately, there is still something serious, traditional and constructive. Come and find us and try to believe! Thank you Jigoro Kano and thanks to all those who attend our beautiful dojo!
