The Centre Manor Monthey, part of one of the largest retail groups in Switzerland, the Maus Frères SA group, was inaugurated in 1971. At the time, it seemed to be an extra-urban development, isolated between gardens, meadows and factories. Many people considered this choice a pure madness. Over the years, many shops and buildings have been found in the surrounding area.

It was one of the first major shopping centers built in French Switzerland, in an ideal location at the entrance of the Valais and near various tourist resorts and the highway. At the time it was a bold move, but it quickly gave its fruits. Immediate success has only grown over the next 20 years. Between 1992 and 1994, the Centre was expanded and renewed. In 2011 it celebrated its 40th anniversary and in 2013 it was subjected to an important lift to offer customers greater purchasing comfort, always bringing together several banners under the same roof, an innovative concept when it was first built.

Over the years, the Centre Manor Monthey has become a popular meeting place. The mall regularly hosts events and exhibitions. As a result, it became a real square of the convivial village. The Centre is also an important actor in Monthey's community life, supporting local societies through donations and sponsorships.
