Dr. med. Markus Naef

I am a FMH specialist in surgery and visceral surgery, have more than 30 years of professional experience and have personally performed more than 12,000 operations during this time (of which more than 3,000 were laparoscopic). I attended all the schools in Thun and studied medicine in Bern. I received my basic surgical training at the Cantonal Hospital in Olten, the Zieglerspital in Bern and the Inselspital in Bern. I became a senior physician at the university hospital there in 1993. From 1994 to 1996, I spent time as a research fellow in cancer research in a molecular biology laboratory in California (USA) on a scholarship from the Swiss National Science Foundation. From 1998 I worked at Thun Regional Hospital as a senior physician, and from 2003 as deputy head physician. Since 2011, I have been working in private practice in Thun and as an attending physician at the Beau-Site Clinic in Bern and the Hohmad Clinic in Thun.
